Infant Car Seat FAQ

What type of infant car seat does IEHP give out?

I am not able to attend the class. Can I send my sister or friend in my place?

I lost my car seat coupon.  Can I still attend the class?

Do I need to bring my IEHP Card to the classes?
 

What type of infant car seat does IEHP give out?

It is a convertible, five-point harness car seat.  The seat can be used for children 5 lbs. to 40 lbs.

I am not able to attend the class. Can I send my sister or friend in my place?
Only the baby’s parents, grandparents, or direct caretaker may attend the class.

I lost my car seat coupon.  Can I still attend the class?
Yes.  You may bring your reminder letter in place of the coupon and your IEHP Card to the class.

Can I bring my children to the class?
No.  There is a limited amount of space in the room, and you will be watching a video and demonstration on how to correctly put in a car seat.  Distractions in the class will keep you from learning information that is important to the safety of your child.

Can I arrive late or leave early?

No.  If you arrive late, you will be asked to reschedule for another day.  If you leave early, you will not receive the car seat.

How will I find the class?
IEHP will send you a map along with the coupon and reminder letter.  When you arrive at the building where your class is being held, there will be signs inside the building to direct you to the right room.

How do I register for a Health Education Program?

It’s easy.  All you have to do is call IEHP Member Services at 1-800-440-IEHP (4347)/TTY 1-800-718-4347 to register for the program of your choice.

Do I need to bring my IEHP Card to the classes?
Yes.  You should bring your IEHP Card whenever you use IEHP services.
