IEHP Teams Up with PossAbilities
Promoting the Possible
IEHP works closely with PossAbilities to promote hope and new direction through healthy lifestyle choices and education. We spotlight competitive and recreational sports for people with disabilities to raises awareness of the many athletic and fitness options for individuals with all levels of skill, ability, and mobility.
IEHP believes health and wellness is possible, regardless of age or disability. Our collaboration with PossAbilities, the disability outreach program of Loma Linda University Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Institute (LLU-ORI) showcases individuals living well with a disability. IEHP sponsors various sports events and teams to support athletes with disabilities and provide our Members with healthy role models:

● Wheelchair Rugby – U.S. Quad Rugby Association Pacific Sectional Championship
● Team PossAbilities – integrated triathlon team (people with and without disabilities) compete year-round in events at the regional, state, and national levels
● PossAbilities Triathlon – About 500 individuals with and without disabilities compete individually or as team in the main event while others participate in the Kids Mini-Triathlon, a 5K Run/Walk, or a 10K Run/Walk. The Yucaipa Regional Park event attracts about 1,000 competitors and spectators.
● Rudy’s BraveHeart Triathlon – 2003 event
PossAbilities focuses on physical, social, educational, and spiritual interaction with peers and the community. The unique program is located at LLU-ORI although many of the physical activities take place at the Drayson center, a state-of-the-art, accessible recreation and wellness complex.
