IEHP Offers Incentives to Doctors Focusing on Wellness
No cure beats prevention. That’s why IEHP invests millions of dollars into an incentive program for Providers who help Members stay healthy.
IEHP University
IEHP holds IEHP University each year to ensure our Provider network has the information and tools necessary to best serve all our Members. We collaborate with CDIHP to offer specific training on disability and related health care issues such as:
● Communication service for deaf and hard-of-hearing
● Interpreting services for family members
● Accessible Equipment
● Barriers to Care
● Transferring Procedures
● Alternative Formats
P4P Program
We want to help our Members live well so IEHP’s Pay for Performance (P4P) Program rewards Providers for helping to increase the provision of preventive health services and improving quality of care. Primary care Doctors, Obstetrical (OB) Specialists, IPAs and hospitals can receive additional payment for certain services directly from IEHP.
The P4P Program focuses on:
● Full immunization for babies by the age of 2
● Well Child Visits through the age of 18
● Annual Pap and Chlamydia Screening Tests
● Timely prenatal and post-partum care assessments
● Appropriate assessment and treatment for Members with diabetes
● Appropriate health assessments and treatment for Members with asthma
● Accurate and timely claim submission
“P4P benefits everyone. Our Members can live healthier and Providers receive payment for helping us increase overall wellness, “says IEHP CEO Richard Bruno.
Benefits
IEHP uses data collected from the P4P program to plan efforts that increase support and resources for Providers. We strive to enhance the quality of care and increase the amount and timeliness of service for our Members.
P4P also enhances the Doctor-Patient relationship by:
● Encouraging regular communication, checkups, screenings, and other preventive measures
● Creating a common goal – prevention
