IEHP & RCRMC Offer Pain Management Program

Sometimes “pain management” offers the best medicine for chronic conditions. For those times, IEHP offers a comprehensive Pain Management Clinic in cooperation with Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC).

Pain Management Program

When drugs and therapies just don’t seem to work, Members with persistent pain may be eligible for IEHP’s Pain Management Program.  The IEHP-RCRMC Pain Management Program operates under the principle of pain perception and individual response to it. 

Through an eight-week program, participating Members learn how to get the most relief from pain by:

● Understanding medications, using them correctly, and avoiding dependence

● Recognizing lifestyle options as well as treatment and coping strategies

● Applying alternative treatments and therapies

● Using self-care strategies for pain relief

A multi-disciplinary team of practitioners provides coordinated assessment and individualized treatment, which may include:

● Physical Therapy

● Occupational Therapy

● Speech Therapy

● Therapeutic Recreation

● Care Coordination/Management

● Nursing

● Pharmacy

● Dietary

“Our program offers Members with disabilities an alternative method for coping with chronic pain with less medication,” said IEHP Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bradley Gilbert. 

A coordinator works on-site to:

● Serve as a resource for Members, Practitioners, and IEHP

● Provide current clinical information about Members’ care to Doctors

● Help schedule appointments and access community resources

● Advocate for Members and serve as liaison between IEHP and Providers
