Many studies have examined how quality of care in managed care plans compares with quality of care in other forms of coverage. Significantly, a pattern of largely positive findings about quality of care in HMOs found by Miller and Luft's 1994 literature review has continued to hold true. Research findings, in general, show that HMOs provide their patients with care that is comparable to or better than care provided in the fee-for-service sector.    more...
