Donald Duck, Goofy and Radio Disney AM 1290
to appear at Route 66 Rendezvous
SAN BERNARDINO, CA . . . . Radio Disney AM 1290's Street Team and Inland Empire Health Plan will host Donald Duck, Goofy and Radio Disney DJs Just Plain Mark and Zippy this weekend at the Route 66 Rendezvous
Come out to Cruisin' Kids Town in IEHP's Fun Zone across from Meadowbrook Park on Saturday, Sept. 18 to meet Radio Disney's hilarious, high-energy afternoon DJs Just Plain Mark and Zippy and on Sunday, Sept. 19, have your picture taken with Disneyland's Donald Duck and Goofy. (Characters are subject to change without prior notice.)
"IEHP is all about kids and healthy families," said Richard Bruno, CEO of IEHP. "We do all we can to help parents keep their children safe, healthy and happy. Everyone
who visits our IEHP Fun Zone will leave safer, healthier and happier with the help of Radio Disney AM 1290 and the Dynamic Duo of healthcare superheroes - The Extinguisher and IEHP's own Rad Rider."
For the first time ever, two healthcare superheroes - the American Medical Association's anti-smoking crusader - The Extinguisher - and IEHP's nationally acclaimed bicycle safety superhero - Rad Rider - will join forces to fight Big Tobacco and major head injuries.
It is The Extinguisher's first visit to California. Co-sponsoring this unique healthcare alliance are the Riverside County Medical Association, the San Bernardino County Medical Society, the AMA, and Inland Empire Health Plan.
The Extinguisher will enlist young "buddies" (up to age 10) to help him fight "Big Tobacco." Rad Rider will remind kids to always wear a helmet and to always obey safety laws when riding their bikes.
Children can meet both superheroes in person Sat., Sept. 18 and Sun., Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. They will receive free health and safety comics and other gifts. A cool Rad Rider Bike Helmet will be given at no cost (while supplies last) to children ages 5 - 14, who are accompanied by an adult. Each child must first read the Rad Rider's Safety Comic Brochure, then complete a quick, easy test to get a helmet.
The crowd-pleasing Rad Rider Bicycle Safety Stunt Show with professional, world-class bike riders and ramp jumpers will inform and entertain at multiple performances both days.
"IEHP is very excited about bringing a bit of Disney to Inland Empire kids and their families to enjoy," said Bruno. "With the help of Radio Disney AM 1290, we've got Disney characters and Radio Disney DJs to join The Extinguisher and Rad Rider Superheroes, a great bicycle action stunt show, and we're giving bike helmets away at no cost. If you bring a kid to the Route 66 Rendezvous, you've got to bring them to IEHP's Fun Zone where the fun and action is," urged Bruno.
